Introduction

From August 16 – 22, 2004 I spent a week in Copenhagen in order to participate in the 18th International Symposium on Medicinal Chemistry. During the lunch time I walked through the grass- and wetlands surrounding the Bella Congress Centre at the outskirts of the Danish capital. After the conference I used the opportunity for two excursions at the coast of the Kattegat near Tisvildeleje and at the Øresund north of Klampenborg.

Itinerary

August 16, 2004:
Walk from the Bella Congress Centre in western direction through the Kalvebod Fælled, an area covered mainly by grass- and wetlands.
August 17, 2004: Walk from the Bella Congress Centre in northern direction into the Amager Fælled, an area covered mainly by bushy grassland.
August 18, 2004: Drive from Copenhagen by bus via the Øresund bridge and the Øresund tunnel to Malmö (Sweden), where one day of the conference took place.
August 19, 2004: Another walk from the Bella Congress Centre in northern direction through the Amager Fælled nearly up to the Metro Station Universitetet and back.
August 20, 2004: Drive from København by train to Tisvildeleje at the Kattegat coast. Walk along the coastline in south-western direction. On the tour back walk through the forest of Tisvilde Hegn.
August 21, 2004: Drive by train from København Main Station to Klampenborg at the Øresund coast. Walk along the coastline in northern direction.
August 22 2004: Walk through the Ørstad Parken in the centre of København. In the afternoon flight back to Berlin.

Registration of the observations
All ornithological observations were registered in the databank OrniDB97–2.20, developed by Ralf Schirmeister (www.ralf-schirmeister.de for download) and were edited in two different ways. Under the heading "Excursions" one finds the complete records to the different observation places in chronological order. Under the heading "Species List" one finds the date, the place, and the number of observed individuals in systematic order. In the section Excursions some photos give an impression of the visited areas, in the Species List one finds some photos of birds taken by a Nikon Coolpix 4500 in combination with a telescope Swarovski AT 80 HD.
